Just head over to your inbox , go to the promotions section on gmail, and check a few emails from your favourite brands. You’ll see many of them selling you products for a “great deal”. While there is nothing inherently wrong with it, they don’t do a good job in securing a brand’s place in your heart.
The mailer above speaks directly to the customer. Phablecare had an empathy based approach to its customers. The core message was to focus on the pivotal role that food played in controlling diabetes.
Selling a lifestyle, not products
A big mistake that I see in email marketing is the focus on discounts. The strategy is great for short term gains but is inevitably going to burn through your resources.
A brand should be known for its values, not its discounts.
